“City Pop, City Play!” DICE CON 2024, the eagerly anticipated annual offline entertainment event, will be held from August 23 to 25 at the National Agriculture Exhibition Center in Beijing.
As one of the largest and most iconic board game conventions in Asia, this event once again brings together over a thousand new and classic board games.
At DICE CON, attendees are divided into two categories: those who are experiencing it for the first time and those who keep coming back. Whether you're an extrovert or an introvert, you can break barriers and immerse yourself in endless fun and intriguing gameplay. This year’s event not only features an abundance of board games and card games, but also expands the popular "DICE KIDS" children’s board game zone with an educational forum where industry professionals will share their insights on using board games for parenting. Additionally, the inaugural "Universal Board Game Gravity" exhibition will showcase domestic and international case studies on the social practice of board games, exploring their role in sustainable development. This promises to be a creative and meaningful addition to the convention.

Seafight Saga
A beginner-friendly American-style game with few characters and somewhat imbalanced gameplay. Some characters' abilities are underwhelming, leading to a lack of engagement. If luck isn't on your side, you might find yourself with little to do. Played as a warrior in the morning, the team’s core, and a sorcerer in the evening, just hanging around...
Meeples & Monsters
A fun bag-building game where players draw different workers to perform actions, complete tasks, or fight monsters. There's some strategy involved, but not much, as lazy workers can't be removed and tend to clutter the bag. Luck plays a significant role! The game offers a subtle balance between worker placement and deck-building, with limited player interaction and a somewhat repetitive engine-building mechanic. However, the overall experience is enjoyable, and it’s worth a try!
Descent: Legends of the Dark
A super cool American-style cooperative game. The experience was great! Yesterday, we played through the first act of the second edition under the guidance of a skilled player, inheriting their characters. The game’s weapons, skills, and items have seen substantial upgrades, greatly enhancing the strategy and teamwork. It’s incredibly satisfying to play—highly recommended for fans of cooperative American-style games.
